Anyways, all this walking on campus during the hot day made me want to cool off with something cold… and what better way is there than to indulge in a frosty ice cream…So I decided to take a trip down to Hilo Homemade Ice Cream in Keaukaha with my girlfriend Stacy…Inspired by James’ Big Island Grinds Food Blog, I’m going to attempt to express my experience there…

In my opinion, I believe they make one of the best Ice Creams in Hawaii! Hilo Homemade Ice Cream emphasizes in using the freshest in Hawaii grown products and will definitely please anyones flavor palate.

After looking in the store, I noticed that they made Shave Ice, AKA Ice Shave or mainlanders like my roommate from New York call it a snow cone. To me, the only thing better than an Ice Cream on a hot day is an ice cold Shave Ice with Ice Cream!

Here’s the selection of flavors they had…

I ended up getting Strawberry and Lilikoi flavored Shave Ice with a scoop of Coconut Ice Cream on the bottom! I can’t even begin to tell you how refreshing it was!![]()
